Greek god Themistocles leads the charge against invading Persian forces led by mortal-turned-god Xerxes and Artemisia, a vengeful commander of the Persian navy. After the events of the previous movie where 300 Spartans gave their lives to protect Greece, Sparta doesn’t care to help the embattled Athenians, despite the chances that together they could defeat Xerxes. This new chapter of the epic sage takes the action to a fresh battlefield – on the sea. It marks the high point of the second Persian invasion of Greece which began in 480 BC.
