Dev Patel stars as pioneering Indian mathematician, Srinivasa Ramanujan, in this biopic that chronicles the life journey of this great mind and his relationship with mentor Professor G.H. Hardy. We see Ramanujan whisked away from the abject poverty of his home in India to the golden halls of Trinity College at Cambridge where he is taken under the wing of Hardy. He leaves behind his wife and family, which takes its toll on him, and as his own health begins to decline, he struggles to find his place – which is ultimately as one of India’s greatest modern scholars.
