It’s Pikachu to the rescue in this quirky adaption of the Pokémon phenomenon. Voiced by Ryan Reynolds, the adorable sleuth is also an uber- sarcastic motormouth that teams up with a 21-year-old Tim Goodman when the latter comes to Ryme City following his father’s passing. They set out to investigate the mysterious circumstances surrounding that death, leading them down a trail that contains plenty of twists and turns. They get help from new reporter Lucy Stevens along the way, and eventually discover that eccentric millionaire Howard Clifford is involved in the mystery. Whether you’re a Pokémon fan or you can’t tell a Charmander from a Squirtle, this solid video game adaption has widespread appeal.
