A tribute to the Hollywood gangster movies of old, Live By Night tells the tale of a Boston Police Superintendent’s son who is seduced by the allure of being an outlaw, turning his back on his family and his upbringing for a life of notoriety instead. When he betrays a powerful mob boss by stealing his money, he soon learns just how ruthless the criminal underworld can be. This is ultimately Ben Affleck’s passion project – the movie he always dreamed of making, and this is clearly evidenced by the level of detail he infuses the film with.
