David is a highly advanced “Mecha” or robot of the future, designed to serve and assist humans who live on an Earth mostly submerged after the melting of the polar ice caps. He is a miracle of science, being the first of his kind to feel love, and when he is adopted by the grief-stricken Monica and David to replace their comatose son, David develops a deep undying bond with his mother Monica. His fortune however takes a turn when the couple’s real son comes home following treatment, and David his ousted from the family. So begins a perilous journey for David who yearns for only one thing in life: to become a real boy, worthy of real love.
