Follow the story of Jackie Robinson who became the first African-American to play Major League baseball upon being signed to the Brooklyn Dodgers. He not only faces unrelenting racism from outside the team, but within it as well as both players and fans try to get him kicked off. While Robinson fights for his place and his rights he gains allies and a host of enemies that drive him almost to a breaking point.
